Now, I’m Using the Same Plan to Reach a Greater Goal
On March 23, 2021, I started walking.
That first day I walked fewer than 2 miles, at a leisurely 18:40 minutes per mile. I decided to lose 35 pounds by my 60th birthday — June 27.
I did it.
It was simple really.
Now, a year later, I walk about 4-6 miles most days, at a much faster pace (12:40/mile). The excess pounds have stayed off.
On March 23, 2022 — the one-year anniversary — I started a new experiment.
I wondered if I could use the same plan to help me achieve another (greater) goal.
So, I began again.
By my 61st birthday, I’ll know if these skills are transferable to other areas of life.
This time, I have 30-day, 60-day and 90-day goals.
For starters, I created this website. It’s definitely not ready to launch, but I took the next step to keep the momentum.
I wrote my first post yesterday.
Just like last year, my early steps are not impressive.
- Start small and slow.
- Stay focused on the goal.
- Stick to the routine.
- Trust the process
- Enjoy the ride.
The weight loss helped only me, and perhaps my wife.
This new goal, I pray, will help others…people I don’t yet know.
Maybe you.
